Almost 100 years of history

In 1918, ILARDUYA & Co. started its industrial activity in the heart of Bilbao. Its former activities dealt with resins and coatings manufacturing and marketing for the many foundries existing those days in the Basque Country. It gradually enlarged its product range and target market, becoming in only a few years the most relevant national company manufacturing moulding binders and refractory coatings.

In 1969 ILARDUYA & Co. signed an agreement with the German company HÜTTENES-ALBERTUS GmbH, the world largest manufacturer of foundry resins and coatings. In consequence, ILARDUYA & Co. became a member of the HÜTTENES-ALBERTUS GmbH Group and the company AUXILIAR INDUSTRIAL S.A. ILARDUYA was set up.

In 1969, the new organisation moved to Amorebieta, continuing with its expansion and growth process.

Once the national market was consolidated, it started with internationalisation activities. The first expansion attainment arrived in 1979 when FUNDIPOR was set up in Portugal.

Next, the Mexican INAFUSA, Industria Auxiliar de Fundición S.A. de C.V. was created, being the first company participated by ILARDUYA outside Europe. This was the starting point for further establishment of companies in Venezuela - FERROFUSION S.A. de C.V., Chile - AISA Chile and Egypt - Egyptian Spanish Company for Metal Technology (ELABD).

In 2007 the corporative visual identity of the company was adapted to new times and the parent company was reorganised, giving rise to ILARDUYA Productos de Fundición S.L.U.
